Auburn-Opelika Running & Track Association

The RRCA club for Lee County, and the only weekly group run anyone publishes in Auburn or Opelika. One Saturday run at 6 AM on a rotating named route — around 5, 9 and 14 miles on a typical week — with water stops every two and a half to three miles. Non-members, joggers and walkers are all explicitly welcome; membership is $25 a year and is not required to show up.

Auburn University's student running club, active on Instagram and Strava and listed among the university's sport and recreation organizations. Membership runs through the university rather than being open to the public.

Big Dog Fleet Feet Group Runs

The specialty running store in Uptown Columbus, and the anchor of the Georgia side of the valley. The Wednesday sunset run rotates between four routes of four to five miles with half-price drafts at Iron Bank afterwards; the Saturday sunrise run starts at 6 AM and the staff make pancakes. A walking group leaves the store for the Riverwalk at 5:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Columbus Roadrunners

The RRCA chapter for Columbus and the surrounding area, running five group runs a week across three start points. The Saturday long run from 10th & Broadway goes anywhere from 6 to 20 miles; the Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the Fall Line Trace are the club's Next Steps progression for runners coming out of Couch to 5K.

A brewery run club out of New Realm's taproom on South College Street, at the downtown edge of the Auburn campus. Short routes — 2, 3 and 5 miles — and a discounted first pour when you get back, which makes it the social counterweight to AORTA's Saturday long run.
